Song of the day: Dream Boy

I can't figure out if this Jackie DeShannon song was ever actually released (other than on reissue CDs?) I've searched record stores, scoured the internet for information and religiously checked eBay to no avail. I've kinda given up on ever trying to find this on vinyl... sniffle sniffle...

Jackie wrote a few songs with Jimmy Page in the 60's (she also dated him and while we're gossiping, she also dated Love's guitarist, Bryan MacLean!!) Her professional relationship with Page resulted in some seriously catchy songs, including one of my favorite songs of all time, Dream Boy:

...and here's another Page/DeShannon collaboration:

  1. Since you mentioned Bryan MacLean, are you into his sister's band Lone Justice?

  2. How ODD. I've seen their record about 50 million times at the store I work at... and never once have given it a listen. Didn't know his sis was in that band. After scrolling through the comments, I found out the song in the above link was written by Tom Petty (who I love). Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to give this album a listen next week!

  3. Thank you for all the music you've introduced all of us to in this blog. Tony Gilkyson is also in Lone Justice. He later replaced Billy Zoom in X.
