Rainy day record: Susan Cadogan
Yet another masterpiece from the vaults of Trojan Records: Susan Cadogan's Hurts So Good. Produced by Lee Perry in 1976, this album is pop reggae at it's finest, filled with nothing but A-sides. Although a lot of the songs are covers, Susan makes them her own, with that schoolgirl sweet voice of hers. She does rad versions of Elvis Presley's In the Ghetto, Peggy Lee's Fever , a super shrilly version of Shirley and Company's huge disco hit, Shame and the album's title track, Millie Jackson's Hurts So Good. Yep, a perfect rainy day record...
