...why not give Julie Driscoll a chance? She's a British singer from the 60's/70's and her recordings are a mix between soul, mod pop and organ-heavy jazz. She got her start singing in a "super group" called The Steampacket with Rod Stewart and Brian Auger.

I heart Jools! As a teenage mod in the 80's she was my "pin-up" gal. Of course I appreciated her voice, and still do.
