Catch a Wave

A while back, the store I work at bought an unusual and large record collection. I saw the record pictured above and was intrigued: is this a girl group or another record cover with girls just featured on the cover... I put it on and was blown away by what I heard. The most amazing Beatles cover in history. Take a listen:



So who are The Third Wave?? These Filipino sisters from California were discovered by George Duke, who recorded their debut LP in Germany in 1970 for the MPS record label (known as the Blue Notes records of Germany). Their sound mixes beautiful harmonies with jazz, bossa nova and "sunshine pop". The music and vocals are gorgeous. If you like Free Design, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE The Third Wave!!
